The Morbius meme — you know, the one where film writers talk about it grossing billions of dollars and being the greatest film of all time — is a little tired at the moment, but we’re hoping Jared Leto has one final performance as the blood-sucking man-bat hybrid left in him, because what would a Multiverse of Madness be without Sony’s new Marvel legend? We’ve been poring over every frame of this new Doctor Strange 2 teaser as if it were a dossier on the JFK murder, and still we’re not seeing any evidence of everyone’s favourite vampire. How on Earth can Marvel release a teaser for a film like this without considering the world’s suddenly ravenous Morbius fans? They are famished! We are famished! The world is in desperate need of Michael Morbius!

Anyway, this seems to be a post about Doctor Strange’s adventures in the Multiverse of Madness, so yes. A new trailer was released on Wednesday. You may watch it if you like. Morbius does not exist. What is the purpose any longer?

“In Marvel Studios’ ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ the MCU opens the Multiverse and pushes its bounds farther than ever before.” Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange as he crosses the mind-bending and hazardous multiple worlds of the Multiverse with the aid of magical friends both old and new to fight a strange new opponent.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to open in theatres on May 5, but we’re not sure whether that date will apply to every other reality into which Marvel is pouring these bad boys. However, here’s a question: Do you believe Doctor Strange would go to a reality in which Stan Lee abandoned Timely Comics and became a travelling vacuum salesman? Would the planet resemble a bombed-out husk or would it resemble Lionel Hutz’s image of a post-lawyer world? Who is to say?
